SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
The warmer months of summer will be upon us soon and vacation plans will be made and hopefully fulfilled. However, our service to community, state, nation and our veterans and their families does not stop for vacation. Have a good and safe vacation but continue to remember our mission. We continue to meet throughout the summer and urge all of you to attend our regular meetings on the second Friday of each month and to participate in generating and facilitating post events. We need everyone to help in maintaining our post home and doing their part in the everyday tasks of running the post.

NOTE: OUR MEETING NIGHT STARTING TIME HAS CHANGED FROM 8:00 PM TO 7:30 PM, STARTING APRIL 14, 2017.
1.) Veterans Council meeting: Mon., Sep.11, 2017 at 7:30 PM. NO meetings July and August.
2.) Regular Meeting: Fri. June 9, 2017 at 7:30 PM.
3.) Regular Auxiliary Meeting: No regular meetings during June, July and August.
4.) Hospital Party: Tues. May 19, 2017. Meet at the Paramus Veterans Home at 7:00 PM.
5.) Installation of Officers (Post and Auxiliary): Fri., Jun. 23, 2017 at 7:30 PM.
6.) Fair Lawn Seniors bus trip to Bally’s Casino, Atlantic City: Thurs. July 27. Bus leaves at 8:00 AM from the municipal parking lot. Cost is $ 25. Call Elaine Burns at 201-791-5290.

2.) Veterans Council: Memorial Paver Program: We have restarted the Memorial Paver program, to add memorial engraved pavers to those already installed in front of the municipal building. Cost is $50 per paver. ELIGIBILITY: Present/Past member of a Fair Lawn Veterans Post, living or deceased, present/former Fair Lawn resident or their family member(s), who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time, members of the Merchant Marine who served during WWII. Each application will be vetted – proof of service required for non veteran post applicants. (copy of Service record DD214 or Honorable Discharge document) Applications for pavers will be made available at the municipal building, through the Veteran Liaison Officer, Nick Magarelli, and through the local veteran posts, Library, and Fair Lawn Community Center. 3.) Coming Events: We are planning a possible bus trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse Dinner/Theater for sometime in Sep. or Oct., on a Tue, Wed, or Thu., for a matinee show. “Neil Simon Hilarious Comedy” and “The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute” are being considered. This event will be open to all veterans and the public. Please watch for updates.
4.) Member participation at the last few regular meetings has been low and we encourage you to make every effort to attend. Without your inputs and support we can not generate social events and support various programs. Help from all members, no matter how small, is vital to our operation.

1.) AUXILIARY MEETING: There are no REGULAR meetings scheduled during the months of June, July and August. Next regular meeting will be held on Friday. Sep. 8, 2017 at 7:30 PM.
2.) We missed many of you at our meeting on Friday, May 12. We are trying to reenergize our unit and your attendance is very important. Please let us know when your plans have changed and you can not attend. We need your inputs and participation to succeed.
3) “INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS” Fri., Jun. 23, 2017 at 7:30 PM. (Post and Unit) Please come and support us. your attendance at this ceremony is important.That is all we ask of you.
