COMMANDERS’ MESSAGE
I would like to thank all those that participated in the memorial day events. We actually had a total of three. The Boy Scouts came on Saturday, in the rain, and placed the flags on grave sites at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery. On Sunday we held an abbreviated memorial service at the cemetery. Again in the rain. Om Monday the Memorial Day Parade was held and we marched from Radburn to Memorial Park and held another memorial service, to honor our veterans. I had the honor of being selected as Grand Marshall of the parade.event.
We are continuing our zoom meetings the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM. If you want to join us please forward me your email address so I can give you the meeting number and you can be part of it.
NOTE: (Revised meeting time) We are changing our regular meeting night day and time from the 2nd Friday @ 7:00PM to the 2nd Tuesday @ 7:30PM. We are figuring that we will bump up the rental dates to include Fridays.

1.) IMPORTANT NOTICE: Note to SAL members:
Due to the unconscionable decision to increase the SAL per capita tax it will be
necessary to raise the dues to $14.00. This increase will cover all fees plus tax
to Bergen County SAL.This increase takes effect July, 2021.

2.) Veterans Appreciation and Family Barbecue:
Sunday. August 22, 2021 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at our American Legion Post 171, 17-08 River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ. For reservations call 201-796-9667 or email – madeline275@gmail,com. Cost is $10.00 per person. Deadline is Monday, August 16, 2021 for all money and headcount. Tickets are not available at the door.
Join us for some fun! There will be music by “DJ BONZ”, Food, Beverages, Games and a Water Slide. Free school backpacks will be given out.
3.) “Boy’s State”: We have sent two delegates to Boy’s State in June of this year. Both are Fair Lawn High School juniors. Fees were payed from our post Bar Account.
